SCA stands for Student Council Association. They plan school events and try to maintain
school spirit. There is one president for each grade. In this transcript I have interviewed the
Senior President for the 25-26 school year.
Heba Habib: “How many years have you been in SCA?”
Gauri Saigal: “I’ve been in SCA for 4 years.”
Heba Habib: “What do you do as Senior President?”
Gauri Saigal: “I do all the senior events, look over other classes to see if they line up with
my events as well, and overall, just make senior year special.”
Heba Habib: “What made you decide to run for Senior President?”
Gauri Saigal: “I was Vice President my senior year, and our former President wasn’t the
greatest and the organization wasn’t the best. I wanted to make the organization better and
I just like participating.”
Heba Habib: “What advice would you give someone who wants to run for office?”
Gauri Saigal: “Participate and know how to balance things because as a senior who has
college applications, and school you have to learn to communicate with the people around
you.”
Heba Habib: “What would you say is the biggest difference of being President and being a
regular member of SCA?”
Gauri Saigal: “I have a lot of responsibilities. I delegate. I don’t just sit there, I make the
forms and overlook everything.”
Heba Habib: “What is your favorite part of being Senior President?”
Guari Saigal: “I like planning, and I just like seeing it get into action and seeing everything
get into play. I like looking at my senior year and knowing I did all this.”
Heba Habib: “What skills has SCA taught you?”
Gauri Saigal: “Organization, leadership, and communication.”
Heba Habib: “How long do campaigns normally last?”
Gauri Saigal: “About a week and a half.”
Heba Habib: “What was it like campaigning for President?”
Gauri Saigal: “It was fun. I made TikTok’s, I posted things and made posters. But it was
definitely stressful I will say that.”
